Muffin Test for Diabetes

According to a recent a study, doctors give their patients a muffin test in order to diagnose them for diabetes. It will also give them precautions in regards to the disease and give them warning signs to avoid the risk of the unwanted sickness.

This kind of test is used to see if patients are reacting to the glucose that is present in the muffin. There also some research wherein they would see the amount of sugar that is present on the blood after 24 hours. However, this kind of test is not munching down a delicious muffin but patients are required to take an oral glucose tolerance examination to see the results.

People behind the new study are curious if patients prefer to eat a muffin instead of taking an oral glucose. There is still no result if this test actually works, but they would like doctors to try if it would be a better test compared to the glucose drink. Besides, who wouldn’t want to chug down a delicious muffin for a diabetes exam? And, there are also other women and children who find the oral glucose disgusting because of the unlikable taste.
