American country singer and American Idol winner Scotty McCreery, 18, has recently been honoured in Garner High School, North Carolina with a mural.

Scotty McCreery, according to The News & Observer of Raleigh, graced the unveiling of the artwork last Friday.

The mural of McCreery swinging a microphone as if it was a baseball bat during a performance in Idol was made to honor the school’s accomplishments in the field of sports.

Also in the mural is Donald Williams, former Garner basketball star, named Most Valuable Player in the University of North Carolina in the 1993 championship, and Hal Stewart, coach to the Trojans in 1987 wherein they got the state football title.

Garner High School is where McCreery is currently finishing his senior year.
