Reuters reports that controversial actress Lindsay Lohan’s father, Michael Lohan, is undergoing heart surgery Friday after being rushed to the hospital for chest pains and high blood pressure. Lohan’s representative, Gina Rodriguez, released a statement that after being rushed to Gulf Coast Hospital Florida, Lindsay’s father has to have a blood clot removed from his lungs by having a stent carotid artery procedure.

The procedure is invasive and Lohan is expected to recover in one weeks’ time. In the reality TV show Celebrity Rehab last season, Lohan’s heart problem was documented. Last February, Lohan had a heart surgery to clear a heart blockage. He was arrested last month for allegedly abusing his ex-girlfriend Kate Major. He is on two-year probation and is sentenced to spend the first four months of his probation in a Fort Myers Treatment Center.

Rodriguez also states that 51-year-old Lohan has not received any medication for his heart disease and high blood pressure in a week at the court-ordered treatment where he’s sentenced to stay. The 51-year old Lohan was admitted on Thursday night after experiencing shortness of breath and chest pains. The ambulance crew reportedly measured a high blood pressure reading of 200/110 on Lohan. In an email to Reuters, Rodriguez noted that Lohan had not received blood pressure or heart medicine for a week at the treatment center where he was staying.
