PETA Shuns “The Grey”

| February 6, 2012

After Liam Neeson’s statement that he ate wolf stew in preparation for his role on The Grey, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals were in outrage and appealed that viewers should boycott the movie.

The Irish actor played the role of an oil worker who got stuck somewhere in the arctic with his colleagues after their plane crashed. The team was in danger because of a pack of wolves that hunted them. Joe Carnahan, the Grey’s director, said in an interview that it was his suggestion that the ebtire cast must try to feast on wolf meat for them to understand their characters well. In an attempt to make the actors’ portrayal effective, the cast including Neeson agreed to eat wolf stew.

Because of this revelation, animal activists were infuriated and PETA urged movie goers to protest by not supporting the movie.
