Status Upgrade for Singaporean Art Collectors in Affordable Art Fair

Art galleries that are home to famous art works by equally famous artists are going to hold the Affordable Art Fair Singapore on November. Damien Hirst, popularly known for his masterpieces that are made of preserved animal corpses, will be featured in the event, together with the work of other artists. His masterpieces will be sold in not more than $8,000. As the name of the event suggests, all art pieces included in the show will be offered to art aficionados will not exceed S$10,000. The aim of this art fair is to encourage potential art patrons who cannot afford very expensive works of art to continue patronizing art works.
Art gallery owners attribute the middle-class Singaporean’s increasing interest in artworks to the country’s brisk economy. It is their goal to make more Singaporeans appreciate art and therefore further cultivating their culture. Having a strong economy results in a large population of middle-class art enthusiasts thus, art gallery owners want to take advantage of such a population’s potential influence in the field of art.
